GACH, John - Of Flint, age 77, died Saturday, May 23, 2015 at his residence.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11am Saturday, May 30, 2015 at Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 1227 East Bristol Road, Burton,
Father Steve Anderson officiating.
Cremation will take place following the Mass.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the North End Soup Kitchen and Carriage Town Ministries.
Visitation 1-4pm and 6-8pm Friday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. A Vigil Service will be held 7pm Friday evening at the funeral home. Visitation 10am Saturday at the church until the time of the Mass.
John was born in Spangler, PA on March 26, 1938, the son of the late Edward and Josephine Gach. He married Elinor Panczak. John was a Tool and Die Supervisor with General Motors, retiring after 30 years of service. He was an avid fisherman, hunter and loved golf.
Surviving are wife of 54 years, Elinor;
children, Michael (Ann) Gach, Roxanne (Joseph) Brushaber-Vensko, Greg Gach, Richard Gach, Marcia (Paul) Gratsch, Robert (Tina) Gach, Joseph (Amy) Gach and Stephen Gach;
grandchildren, William Brushaber, Matthew Gach, Taylor Vensko, Sara Gach, and Haley Gratsch;
brothers and sisters, Mary Vopalensky, Irene (James) Boyd, Catherine Barnes, Agnes Schiffler, Frank (Marianne) Gach, Thomas (Janet) Gach, Paul (Peggy) Gach, Theresa (Richard) Jarvis and Joann (Fred) Weiland;
and many extended family members.
He was preceded in death by granddaughter, Carolanne Brushaber and brothers, Joseph and Walter.
