HAWKINS, Theodore “Ted” – Of Flint, age 88, died Thursday, June 30, 2016 at Genesys Regional Medical Center.
Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held at 5 p.m. Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Reverend Karen Williams officiating.
Visitation 1 p.m. Wednesday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Theodore was born in Flint, Michigan on June 15, 1928. He graduated from Flint Central High School. He married Reta Rose in 1951. Theodore served in the U.S. Army for three years. He was a member of the Elks #222 for 35 years. He was an avid bowler, loved baseball and golf.
Mr. Hawkins retired from GM after 30 years of service.
Surviving are wife, Reta;
daughter, Nancy and husband Jeff Pelkey;
grandchildren, Samantha and husband Jason Lamphier,
Nickolas Middleton,
Cyndy Coleman,
Becky Hawkins,
Drew, Kathelynn, Kirk, Marc and wife Adrienne Pelkey;
8 great-grandchildren;
son-in-law, Danny Middleton;
daughter-in-law, Chery Hawkins;
brother, Edward and wife Elsie Hawkins.
He was preceded in death by daughter, Laura Middleton and son, Bruce Hawkins.
