Dick was born on March 22, 1930 in Meadville, Pennsylvania to the late Joseph and Anna (Androsky) Gisewhite. He moved to Flint in 1952 after spending 5 years as a Merchant Marine on the Great Lakes Ore and other freighters for the Interlake Steamship Co. This time would shape much of the rest of Dick’s life, especially his efficient and organizational habits for which he was known. It also resulted in his focus and enjoyment of collecting great lake shipping relics. After coming to Flint, Dick worked for Buick Motor Co., followed by a string of entrepreneurial endeavors; notably an independent insurance agency and ad specialty distributorship. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Dick married Jeane Kulis on January 24, 1953 and enjoyed 66 years together. They made their family home on Flint’s West side until moving to Clio after retirement in 2002.

In retirement, Dick became a student of the markets. He thoroughly enjoyed tracking, analyzing and identifying corporate prospects for his “watch list”. He always had a story to tell about his latest find, or the markets latest activity.

Surviving are: Wife, Jeane Gisewhite; Children: Vicki (Rob) Boone of Swartz Creek, Michigan and North Ft. Myers, Florida, Joe Gisewhite of Flint; Rich (Paula) Gisewhite of Linden, and Tom (Teresa) Gisewhite of Fenton; 8 Grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren whom were all a source of amazing pride; Several nieces and nephews.
