SNOW, Billy J. “Dad Snow” – of Davison, age 85, passed away September 28, 2014 at his residence. A Funeral Service will be held 1 PM Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison; Chaplain Todd Regester officiating. Burial, with Military Honors will be in Sunset Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be 11 AM-2 PM and 4-8 PM Tuesday and 12-1 PM Wednesday. A Memorial Service under the auspices of Davison VFW Post #4087 will be held 6 PM Tuesday and O.E.S. #299 at 7 PM followed by Masonic Lodge #236. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Davison DeMolay or Alzheimer’s Association.
Billy married Helen Prystajko on May 1, 1954 and she preceded him in death on April 26, 2009. He attended First Baptist Church of Davison. Billy was a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of Masonic Lodge #236, Michigan DeMolay, O.E.S. #299, he was awarded the Lou B. Winsor Award and entered into the Michigan DeMolay Hall of Fame, High 12 Club and a member of Davison VFW Post# 4087. Billy was a Shriner for the circus. He was also involved in Big Brothers and Big Sisters, Old Newsboys and Adopt a Highway Program. Billy retired from Buick after 44 years of service. He served in the U.S. Army in the 17th Infantry during the Korean War.
Billy is survived by his children, Karen (Frank) Roles and Vickie (Don) Newsome; grandchildren, Matthew (Tabbetha) Newsome, Andrew (Krysten Ohlsson) Newsome, Travis (Danielle) Newsome; great-grandchildren, Andrew, Sophia, Ayden, Gabriel, Janelle and two on the way; brother, Walt Snow; brother-in-law, Robert (Lula) Prystajko; sister-in-law, Dorothy Gilbert; several nieces and nephews. The family would like to give a special thank you to the Cottage of Davison and their staff and to McLaren Hospice and Visiting Physicians.
