FORYSTEK, Vaughn S. – of Burton, age 79, passed away January 31, 2018 at McLaren Flint. A Funeral Service with Military Honors will be held 11 AM Wednesday, February 7, 2018 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. Visitation will be 3-8 PM Tuesday and 10 AM until time of service on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Vaughn was born in Flint, MI on January 7, 1939, son of the late Stanley and Norma (Forsberg) Forystek. Vaughn proudly served his country with the U.S. Marine Corps. He married Carol Richards on May 13, 1967. Vaughn enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a classic car enthusiast, even building his own Shelby Cobra. Vaughn was a member of the Eagles and Moose Lodge. He was an avid boater and loved spending time at his cottage he built with family and friends in Cheboygan. Vaughn worked in Quality Control for GM Buick for 34 years before retiring in 1997.
Vaughn is survived by his wife of more than 50 years, Carol; daughter, Melissa (Eric) Griffin; brother, Dallas Forystek; many cherished friends. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Nicole Forystek.
