Ginger's journey began in Flint, Michigan, on September 5, 1946, the daughter of Howard and Nora (Brett) Richards. On June 3, 1966, she embarked on a beautiful union with Al Spencer, a union that would weave love and companionship throughout their lives.
In 1964, Ginger graduated from Flint Central High School. Her professional path led her to serve as the esteemed Richfield Township Treasurer for an impressive 14 years, where she left an indelible mark of dedication and integrity.
But it was alongside Al, her beloved partner, that Ginger truly found her bliss. For over 56 years, they danced upon the waves, finding solace and joy in the art of sailing. Their summers were painted with the tranquil beauty of the North Channel in Canada, a cherished sanctuary of peace and serenity.
Yet, their adventures extended far beyond the shores. With their trusty 5th wheel in tow, they traversed the landscapes of the country, reveling in the enchanting beauty of nature during the spring and fall seasons. Together, they discovered the boundless wonders that adorned the open road, creating memories that would endure a lifetime.
In the gentle embrace of creativity, Ginger found enjoyment in the art of sewing. An avid seamstress, she poured her passion into creating exquisite dresses and delicate doll clothes, each stitch a testament to her talent and love.
As we reflect on Ginger's journey, we are reminded of a life beautifully lived—a life enriched by love, adventure, and creativity. May her spirit continue to sail upon the winds of memory, forever cherished in the hearts of those she touched.
Ginger is survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Al Spencer; two daughters, Heather (Tom) Archer and Meri (Thad) House; grandchildren, Megan and Madison Archer; many other loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her sister, Karen Barth.
