MARTIN, Loretta E. – of Clio, age 78, died Thursday, March 7, 2013 at Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. Funeral services will be held 1PM Thursday, March 14, 2013 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Cremation to follow. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2PM until 9PM and on Thursday from noon until the time of service.
Loretta was born March 5, 1935 in Smoot, West Virginia to the late Edgar and Kathleen (Sims) Martin. She had resided in Clio. Loretta was an avid bowler for 20 years and competed in many leagues at championship level in national tournaments throughout the country; she was awarded numerous medals and trophies. Loretta was a member of the WIBC (Women’s International Bowling Congress). She enjoyed making jewelry, crafts, sculpting, comedy shows, macramé, coin collecting, traveling, playing the slot machines at the casino and dining out with friends. She was a wonderful cook, fantastic seamstress and a big baseball fan, always cheering for her favorite team, the Yankees. She will be greatly missed.
Surviving are: children, Sandie Roberts of Minneapolis, MN, Michael (Rexann) Wentworth of Clio, David (Kevin) Schuh of Sonoma, Ca; grandchildren, Nicole (Preston) Jackson of Mesa, AZ, Jordan Wentworth of Portage, MI; brothers, Franklin (Iona) Martin of Thermond, NC, Joe (Hilda) Martin of Burlington, NC, Jack (Sherry) Martin of Clio, William Martin of Dawson, WV; sisters, Mildred Holland of Crawley, WV, Henrietta (Charles) Green of Frankford, WV, Barbara Hood, of Richmond, VA.
