MICHALKA, Betty Jane. – of Mt. Morris, age 86, died Thursday, January 12, 2017 at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 4PM Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11AM until the time of service at 4PM.
Betty was born April 22, 1930 in Flint, Michigan to the late Floyd Cyrus and Bina Mae (Reed) Deacons. She graduated from Central High School and later attended the University of Michigan. Berry married Robert Irwin Michalka on July 7, 1951. He preceded her in death September 14, 1997. She was a member of Mayfair Bible Church in Flushing and knew the love for her Lord. Betty was an in-home caregiver most of her life and loved helping people. She enjoyed crocheting and crossword puzzles. Betty had a love for life, a kind, gentle spirit and was always very caring. She was a voracious reader and enjoyed reading her bible
Surviving are: Sons: Robert (Lucretia) Michalka of Phoenix, AZ, and David Michalka of Mt. Morris; 3 grandchildren: Crickett, Charmaine and Rebecca; 14 great grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren; Sisters: Shirley and Donna; Brother, Lavern; Loving caregiver, Karen; Many other loving family members.
