BEALS, Verna L. “Dolly” - of Clio, age 90, passed away Sunday, September 20, 2020 at Maple Woods Manor in Clio. A family memorial picnic will be held on Saturday September 26, 2020, from Noon-5 PM at the Clio City Park, Pavilion 3, (402 N. Mill St., Clio). A floral donation may be made to: Maple Woods Manor, Clio Mi in the name of Dolly Beals, or a financial donation may be made for funeral costs.
Dolly was born February 7, 1930 in Flint, Michigan to the late Robert and Yvonne (Arsnault) Conway. On June 14, 1947, she married Claude “Max” Beals in Flint. He preceded her in death October 17, 1957. She attended the Flint Public Schools and went to Flint Northern High School. She lived for many years in Flint Twp., and eventually move to Clio in 2002. She worked for 22 years at Clara Barton Nursing Home in Flint and retired in 1999. She was an avid book reader and loved going out to eat with her family. She taught Sunday School for many years and enjoyed the fellowship of the merry widow’s group at her former church United Baptist in Flint.
Surviving are: Children: Sharon Brown of Mt. Morris, Kenneth (Aleta) Beals of Flint Twp., and Gene Beals of Mt. Morris; Grandchildren: Wade, Mylona (Michael) and Chrissa (Robert); Great-grandchildren: Deanna, Michael, Alysa, Marcus (Mystic), Jordan, Carlos, Dominick and Leena; Great-Great Granddaughter: Lilith and two on the way. Sister: Pat Christle and many nieces, nephews and extended family. Dolly was preceded in death by her: Husband, Claude “Max”, son Gary, daughter, Debra and 10 brothers and sisters.
