VISSER, Clarence John - Of Flint, age 86, died Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Melody Pines Assisted Living.
Clarence was born in Portland, Michigan on April 13, 1928, the son of the late John and Alice Visser. Clarence graduated from Kearsley High School and attended Coyne Electrical School in Chicago. Clarence founded Clare Electric in 1956 which he operated for 50 years. He was a charter member of the Mott Community College Board of Trustees. Clarence held several positions with the Flint Chamber of Commerce. He served in multiple leadership roles in the Flint Division and Michigan Chapter of NECA (National Electrical Contractors Association). Clarence was a member of Gideons International for over 30 years and active in many other service organizations. He was a member of Holly Baptist Church.
Surviving are children, Linda (Larry) Andrews, Larry (Kay), Leon (Shar), Les (Marcia), Lyle (Bonnie) and Leonard;
16 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren;
mother of his children, Gertrude Visser;
sister, Aleta (Loyd) Whitaker;
brothers, Paul (Margaret), Robert (Newana), David (Beverly), Ken (Nancy) and Ray (Suzanne);
many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, second wife, Alice, brothers, Henry, Don, John and Frank and sister, Grace.

Visitation 11am-2pm and 4-8pm Wednesday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint
Funeral service will be held 11am Thursday, April 2, 2015 at the funeral home. Pastor Richard Kinnamon officiating.
Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery.
