TAFT, Lloyd Clark – loving father and grandfather, of Davison, age 90, passed away Friday, November 09, 2012 at Genesys Hospice Care Center of Goodrich. A Funeral Liturgy will be held 3 PM Sunday, November 11, 2012 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison, Rev. Fr. Andrew Czajkowski officiating. Burial with Military Honors will be in St. John Catholic Cemetery at 11 AM on Monday, November 12, 2012. The family will receive visitors from 1 PM until the time of the service on Sunday.
Lloyd was born in Flint, MI on September 20, 1922, son of the late Orvle and Lily (Jankowske) Taft. He married Pearl Kaczmarek on January 6, 1951 and she preceded him in death on March 22, 1994. Lloyd proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy for 14 years on PT Boats during WWII and the Korean Conflict. He was a tool and die maker for AC Spark Plug for 42 years. Lloyd was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church and helped with funeral luncheons. He enjoyed building birdhouses in his wood shop and sharing them with friends.
Lloyd is survived by children, Cathy (fiancé, Dale Becker), Barbara (Louis) Behrends, Denise (fiancé, Dennis Woody); grandchildren, Nick, Mitchell, Todd, Laura and Elizabeth Behrends; sister, Betty (Charles) Carr; many nieces and nephews; his loyal companions, Murphy and Clancy. He was preceded in death by seven brothers.
