KING, Bennie L. – Of Flint, age 80, died Friday, June 15, 2018 at his residence.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. Immediately followed by a luncheon at the Swartz Creek Masonic Lodge.
Dr. Max B. Hayden officiating.
Visitation at the funeral home from 12-7 p.m. Monday with a Masonic Memorial Service at 7 p.m. Tuesday visitation from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
Cremation will take place following the service, with burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery.
Bennie was born in Sergent, Kentucky on February 25, 1938 the son of Walter and Eva (Begley) King and was a resident of the Flint area for many years. On June 4, 1957 he married Goldie Peters in Sergent, Kentucky, and she preceded him in death on April 9, 2005. Bennie retired with 30 years of service with General Motors. After retiring, he sold real estate with Century 21. He was a member of Masonic Morningstar Lodge #556, F.&A.M.
Surviving are his daughter, Karen King (David Huffman) and her son Michael King and grandson, Zachary Langbein;
his best friends, Luther and wife Lavada Yates of Flint;
special friend, Janice Johnston;
brother, Walter King;
several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by daughter, Naomi King on January 29, 2018.
