SANDERS, Sherry Jane – of Montrose, age 57, passed away after a long battle with cancer, Saturday, October 31, 2015 at Hurley Medical Center. Honoring her wishes, cremation has taken place. Memorial services will be held at 11AM Saturday, November 7, 2015 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose. Rev. Susan Bennett Stiles officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Saturday from 9AM until time of services at 11AM. Contributions may be made to Montrose American Legion Auxiliary.
Sherry was born December 16, 1957 in Saginaw to Gene and Regina (Huber) Sanders. She lived in the Flint area all of her life. Sherry was a 1977 graduate of Hill-McCloy High School and earned her Associates Degree in Medical Technology from Baker College. She had been employed at Hurley Medical Center for over 10 years then Michigan Health Specialists for over 10 years. Sherry was a member of Montrose American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed shopping, traveling, spending time with family and friends and going to Higgins Lake.
Surviving are: Mother, Regina Sanders; Siblings: Gene Sanders of FL, Patricia (Richard) Rumbold of Montrose, Robert (Jerrie) Sanders of NH, James (Anne) Sanders of Montrose; many nieces and nephews.
