Mildred "Millie" P. Kirby, of Beulah, died Jan. 18, 2014 at the age of 90. Born in Flint, Mi on Feb 13 1923 the daughter of Cecil Welsh and Blanch Stoner. Millie and Chester Kirby were united in marriage on July 25, 1941 celebrating 72 years of marriage.
She loved making quilts, being active playing golf and bowling and enjoyed a home cooked meal. Millie collected dolls and old car models. She was a strong willed woman and she said what was on her mind. In 1977, Millie retired from AC Delco.
She is survived by her husband Chester; son James (Debbie) Kirby; daughter in law Kathryn Kirby; grandchildren Rick Emberton, Bill (Terri) Emberton, Daniel (Jenn) Kirby, Kenneth (Marcy) Kirby, Tim (Crystal) Kirby and Eber John Atkins, Shelly Emberton, Heather (Chris) Cox, Laurie Redlux (Mark), Brenda Cavanaugh and Ronda Schotten; 19 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by daughter Ella Mae Kister; son Ronald G. Kirby; parents; sisters June Watt and Dorine Reidell.
Memorial service will be held at 1PM Wed Jan 22 at Jowett Family Funeral Homes, 7223 South St. Benzonia, MI 49616 with Rev. Dinah Haag officiating. Arrangements by Jowett Family Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Benzonia.
