VANHURK, Joy Ann – Of Grand Blanc, age 65, died Monday, July 9, 2012 at Genesys Hospice Care Center in Goodrich.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 13, 2012 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road,
Reverend Dean Dumbrille officiating.
Cremation will take place following the service.
Those desiring may make contributions to the American Cancer Society.
Visitation 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Mrs. VanHurk was born in Bay City, Michigan on October 19, 1946, daughter of the late Lloyd and Phyllis (Bradley) Hebert. On December 14, 1963 she married Michael VanHurk in Bay City. She loved spending time with her family, especially with her grandkids. She also loved animals, traveling, reading, baking, shopping, sewing and playing slot machines. Mrs. VanHurk retired from McLaren in 2009.
Surviving are husband, Michael;
sons, Randy and Rick; daughter, Jennifer Caslmon;
grandchildren, Danielle, Keenan, Tyler and Noah;
sisters, Joan Edsall and Jane Castillo;
brother, Ken and wife Marilyn Hebert;
many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Ron Hebert and sister-in-law, Julienne.
