Catherine C “Katie” Martz, of Manistique and Burton, passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2024. Catherine was born on February 10, 1929 in Flint, Michigan to the late John D and Catherine (Smith) Bell.
Catherine graduated from Northern High School in 1947. She worked at S.S. Kresge in downtown Flint until she married the love of her life, Richard C Martz, in 1951. Throughout her life, Catherine was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and recently, great grandmother. She enjoyed tending her flowers, bowling, golfing, cooking, and baking. Above all else though, she adored spending time with her family. Catherine was a kind-hearted soul and was adored by all those who knew her. She will be deeply missed by all those she loved and cherished.
Catherine is survived by her sons: Neil, Scott, and Todd (Bonnie); grandchildren: Brian (Caitlyn) and Kali (Miranda); great granddaughter, Blaire; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Betty Walker.
Catherine is preceded in death by her parents; beloved husband, Richard C; daughter, Linda; and brother, James.
Catherine’s family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Brookdale Memory Care and Heart to Heart Hospice for their wonderful care they provided to Catherine.
As per her wishes, cremation has taken place and a private service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of your choice in memory of Catherine.
