NUTT, Anna Marie Elizabeth (Greene) -of Davison, age 92, passed away on Monday, October 26, 2020, surrounded by family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM Saturday, October 31, 2020 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 N. Dayton St., Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski, celebrant. Burial will be at St. John Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 4-7 PM Friday, October 30, 2020 at St. John Catholic Church. A Scripture Service will be held at 6:30 PM Friday. On Saturday, visitation will be one hour prior to the Mass. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be considered to St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church or McLaren Hospice.
Anna was born in Souletown, MI on October 2, 1928, daughter of the late John and Nora (McGee) Greene. She attended Kinde High School and had 5 siblings. She married Wesley E. Nutt on June 12, 1945, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Kinde, MI, and they had seven children. Wes preceded Anna in death on January 26, 2018, after 73 years of marriage. She loved children and spent her life nurturing her own and numerous other neighborhood children. Anna belonged to St. John Catholic Church and Blessed Sacrament Sodality. She was a devoted mother; wife and we thank God for this “Grand” lady for the time He gave her to us. Anna was a true Evangelist and brought many people to the faith with her unconditional love. She was always entertaining and brought much joy into people’s lives and was known as ‘Irish Annie” and “Annie Sparkle”. She had a love for music, dancing and had a great Irish sense of humor that drew people to her. She cared about people deeply, her relationships with them, and her presence will be greatly missed.
Anna is survived by her children, Major U.S. Army Special Forces Stephen (Gabriella) of Ft. Pierce, Florida, Dr. Laurel (Kevin) Hilliker of Okemos, Michigan, Jeffrey (Maureen) of Superior, Colorado, Robb (Lisa) of Elfers, Florida, Matt (Crissy) of Northville, Michigan and Melissa Nutt of Port Huron, Michigan; seventeen grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren and one on the way; sister, Eileen (Don) Wickline; numerous nieces and nephews, who helped to support and care for her as well as her many dear friends. She was preceded in death by son, Jeremiah Wesley Nutt in 2014; beloved granddaughter and namesake, Anna Louise Nutt -earlier this year; brothers, Francis and Alfred Greene; sisters, Mary Margaret Wolfer and Helen Veronica Pratt; sister-in-law, Geri (Gene) Lawson.
