CHEZEM, Duane Michael. – of Birch Run, age 67, died Thursday, October 24, 2019 at Ascension St. Mary’s Hospital of Saginaw. Funeral services will be held at 2PM Monday, October 28, 2019 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Cremation to follow. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Monday from 11AM until the time of service at 2PM. Memorial contributions may be made to University of Michigan - C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital.
Duane was born July 3, 1952 in St. Louis, Missouri, and raised by Cecil and Ruth Ann (Whiteaker) Prime. He graduated from Hartland High School. Duane married Debra Gould on October 16, 1971 in Linden. Mr. Chezem worked in Skilled Trades for General Motors for 25 years before retiring in 2013 and was a member of the UAW Local #598. He was also a member of the Harrison Moose Lodge #2235. Duane enjoyed fishing, racecars, camping, gardening, and helping his neighbors. He loved his dogs, Cookie and Mia. Above all, Duane loved spending time with his grandchildren - taking them out boating and riding the quads.
Surviving are: Wife, Debra Chezem; Son, Michael (Stephanie) Chezem; Daughter, Sandra Chezem-Stafford (Fiancé Jesse Martinez); Grandchildren: Isabella Chezem (Sean Moore), Michael Chezem, Dean Stafford, Joshua Stafford, and Dalton Duane Chezem; Great grandchild, Oakland Graham Moore; Father, Cecil Prime; Siblings: Bonita Eisman, Donald Albertson, Sheila Peterson, and Cecil Prime, Jr. Many other loving family members and dear friends. Duane was also preceded in death by: Baby boy, James Michael Chezem; Mother, Ruth Ann Prime; Grandfather, Perry Chezem.
