KOVL, William W. - began his eternal life on the morning of July 12, 2016. He was born on May 27, 1942 to proud parents William and Sylvia Kovl in Detroit, MI and was the eldest of four sons. As a boy, Bill attended St Mary's Catholic School, graduating in 1960. While in school he met his soon to be bride, Dolora (Petrimoulx) Kovl. William and Dolora Petrimoulx married on May 29, 1965 and had the joy of raising three beautiful daughters and were blessed with seven grandchildren.
Bill had a love for Clio like no other, and proudly served on various boards and committees holding positions from city commissioner 1989-1997, 2005-present, to serving as Mayor from 1995-1997 and 2005-2007. Bill shared many interests with his family, such as Sunday drives, family vacations, an occasional trip to the casino with his brother, Jerry and a passion for trains. Never did he tire of waiting for a train to pass or hearing the whistle blow.
Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Dolora; daughters: Raechelle (Kirk) Saylor, Stephanie (Bruce) Gordon and Rhonda (Daniel) Collins; grandchildren: Carson, Cecilia, Terrence, Zane, Kylie, Natalie, and Jacquelyn; his mother, Sylvia Kovl; brothers: Gerald (Evelyn) Kovl, Phillip (Joni) Kovl and David (Ann) Kovl; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, William Kovl.
