STENGEL (RAY), Jennie – Of El Paso, Texas, formerly of Flint, age 88, died Friday, September 6, 2019 in El Paso, Texas.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, September 20, 2019 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Steve Wood officiating.
Burial in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation 11 a.m. Friday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Jennie was born in Flint, Michigan on December 2, 1930, the daughter of the late Carmello and Pitrina (Gambino) Dagostino and was a resident of Michigan all her life, until 1993, when she married Norman Stengel and she moved to El Paso, Texas, where she resided for 26 years.
She was a member of Burton Apostolic Church and USA Fitness Health Club. She was a member of Life Worth Living Church in El Paso.
She enjoyed walks at For-Mar Nature Preserve and enjoyed traveling with her husband, Norman.
Jennie was a part time employee of Rainbow Child Care.
Surviving are sons, Gerald (Mary) Ray of Flint,
Thomas Ray of Flint,
Douglas and wife Mary Ray of Mt. Morris and
William Ray of Tampa, Florida;
two daughters, Pitrina Smithwick of Clear Water, Florida and Mary Ray of Oscoda, Michigan;
many grandchildren;
many great-grandchildren;
several nieces and nephews;
special cousin, Annie Allmon and very special friend, Jimmie Jones of El Paso.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl, in 1985; husband Norman Stengel; sons, Tony and Richard; brothers, Frank, Jack and Julie Dagostino; sisters, Madaline and Carmello.
