SHANKS, Beverly Ann - of Montrose, age 79, died Monday, September 18, 2017 at Genesee Care Center in Grand Blanc. Funeral Services will be held 5PM, Thursday, September21, 2017 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose. Burial in Montrose Township Cemetery at 12PM Friday. Pastor Ed Emmerling officiating. Family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Thursday, from 12PM until the time of service at 5PM.
Beverly was born October 8, 1937 in Flint, Michigan to the late Frank and Cloa (Smith) Maitland. She graduated from Hill McCoy High School in 1957. Beverly worked as a realtor for Century 21 Woodland Realty for 40 years retiring in 2003. She enjoyed: artistry, gardening, golfing, and interior decorating. Beverly especially loved spending time with her family and friends.
Surviving are: Children: Dana Dakin, Lisa (Ron) Sujak, Ann (Bill) Crow, and Butch Dakin; Step Children, Rachel Shanks, and Matt Shanks; Grandchildren: Chris (Laura) Crow, and Chloe Crow, and Brother, Dan (Tonya) Maitland. She was also preceded in death by first husband, Marty Dakin; second husband, Richard Shanks, and brother, Tom Maitland. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Genesee Care Center’s staff and a heartfelt thank you to Rita, for her exceptional care of Beverly.
