Peterson, Robert - Age 80, of Grand Blanc Township, passed away at home on April 16, 2024 after a courageous battle with cancer. A memorial service will be announced and held at a later date. Those desiring may make contributions to the Genesee County Humane Society (www.geneseehumane.org). Arrangements provided by Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center 6063 Fenton Rd. Grand Blanc.
Robert was born July 15, 1943 in Melrose Park, Illinois to the late Edward Bennett and Ruth Aileen (Miller) Peterson. He was a 1961 graduate of Flint Central High School and he married Marcia Ann Matheson on November 26, 1965 in Flint. He worked at General Motors/ Buick Division as a supervisor for over 10 years. Robert was an avid pilot, airplane owner and he was a member of the Grand Blanc Huntsman's Club.
Robert is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marcia; children, R. Scott (Amy) Peterson of Corpus Christi, TX., Susan Powers (Jimmy Winer) of Corpus Christi, TX., Wendy Peterson of Grand Blanc; grandchildren, Anthem "A.J." Powers, Zoe Powers, Nicholas Peterson, Alexis Peterson, Tyler Peterson; brother, James (Ruth) Peterson of Flint; dear friend, Tom (Sharon) Fink of South Carolina. Robert was preceded in death by his parents.
