WILSON, Robert Allen - age 89, of Linden, died August 17, 2018. Funeral services will be held 11 AM Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Linden Chapel, 209 E. Broad St., Linden. Visitation will be held 4-8 PM Tuesday and from 10 AM until the time of service Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the Salvation Army or Carriage Town Ministries.

Robert (“Bob”) was born February 1, 1929 in Flint, the son of Lloyd Wilson and Lela Belle (Allen) Streu, and raised as the son of his step-father, Otto Streu. He was a 1947 graduate of Flint Central High School. He was married to Joyce M. Walker on May 6, 1949 in Flint. He lived in Linden since 1972, coming from Flint Twp. Bob retired from Schafers Bakery in 1991, and was also a member of Teamsters Local #332, where he was a steward for many years.

Throughout his adult life, Bob enjoyed going to the lake “Up North”, first with his wife and children and later his grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well. He loved boating and skiing, and for many years owned a house on Byram Lake in Linden. With his wife Joyce, he traveled by motorhome for several years to beautiful places in the U.S. and Canada and eventually became snowbirds to Dade City, FL.

Bob’s family meant everything to him. He was a regular spectator at his children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events and recitals, and coached his granddaughter’s softball team. In his later years, Bob was a devoted and loving caregiver for his sweetheart of over 73 years, Joyce, at their home in Linden.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Joyce; and children, Timothy (Janice) Wilson of Tecumseh, Stephen (Patti Bernard) Wilson of Swartz Creek, Anne (Tony) Magalski of Linden; seven grandchildren, Erin (Josh) Faley, Troy (Carrie Fritsch) Wilson, Meg (Chris) Wyzlic, John Allen (Carol Matthews) Wilson, Mallory (Evan) Duey, John Robert (Shelby Masen) Magalski, Jessie (Mitch Juhl) Magalski; five great-grandchildren, Samuel, Kaelyn, Easton, Harper and Quinn; sister, Eileen Geiger of Grand Blanc; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Maxine Nicholas; brother, Fred Wilson. Tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com.
