Pettey, Joyce of Flint died Nov. 12 at her residence surrounded by her loved ones. Funeral service will be held 5 pm Thursday, Nov. 17 at the New Dawn Chapel, 1569 S. Elba Rd. Lapeer. Family will receive visitors from 11 until time of service Thursday at the chapel. Pastor Steve Bentley officiating. Cremation to follow. Joyce was born Dec. 18, 1942 in Flint, MI. She loved her family, had a love for cats, bowling, bingo and scratch off tickets. Joyce was joined in marriage to Duane Pettey Sr. Feb. 24th and he preceded her in death March 25, 2004. She is survived by her children Duane (Barb) Pettey Jr., Shari (Frank) Massie, Lori Pettey, special sister Liz Freeman, 4 brothers, 2 sisters, 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Joyce was preceded in death by her parents Dorothy and Howard Howd, 1 great grandchild, 1 brother and her in-laws Dorothy and Aaron Pettey. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Pettey family, specifically Lori Pettey.
