GILBERT, Arthur Allen - Of Flint, age 69, passed away Friday, December 9, 2011 at McLaren Regional Medical Center.
Funeral service will be held 12 Noon Tuesday, December 13, 2011 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,
Reverend Joel McCrandall officiating.
Burial in Crestwood Cemetery.
Visitation 2-8p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Arthur Gilbert was born in Flint on January 11, 1942, the son of the late Arthur and Leona Gilbert. He spent 33 years at General Motors and retired in August 1996. He enjoyed spending time with this family and love the outdoors. He will be sadly missed by many. He left this world taking God’s hand as he entered Heaven leaving behind those who love him deeply; wife of 45 years, Darla Gilbert and children Chip Carla and husband Tim Hathaway, Darrin Gilbert and wife Erika, Bridget and husband Mike Shea; grandchildren, Corey, Abra, Blake, Tabitha, Courtney, Brandon and Aaron and three great-grandchildren. Sister, Carol Gilbert and Roger, two brothers, Dwane Gilbert and Brian Gilbert and wife Debbie.
Now he is entering the gates of Heaven to be young once again and pain free. He will watch his family from above and he will always be in their hearts.
“Even Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.” Psalm 23:4.
