FRAZIER, James Pruden - of Davison, MI and Bradenton, FL, age 88, passed away Sunday, May 28, 2017 at Hampton Manor. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Mass, with Military Honors, will be celebrated 2 PM Thursday, June 1, 2017 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 North Dayton Street, Davison, MI 48423, Rev. Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski celebrant. The family will receive visitors 5-8 PM Wednesday, May 31, 2017 and 1-2 PM Thursday, June 1, 2017 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. A Rosary will be prayed 7 PM Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, www.cff.org or St. John Christian Service, in Jim’s memory.
Jim was born in Lakewood, OH on February 1, 1929, son of the late John W. and Idora (Pruden) Frazier. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Marine Corps. during the Korean War. Jim moved to Davison, MI in 1959 and was the founder and owner of Davison Tool Service, where he worked for 31 years. He married Susan M. Zirnhelt on May 21, 1988. Jim was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church where he taught Prep. He enjoyed making any child laugh or smile and he loved traveling with his family. Jim was a member of the 29ers Club repairing children’s camps around the U.S. and the past President of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Genesee County Chapter. He was a founding member of the Davison Downtown Development Authority. Jim was also involved in Revolutionary War re-enactments.
Jim is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Susan (Zirnhelt) Frazier; son, John (Tracey) Frazier of Davison; daughters, Michele (Bart) Mounteer of Heber City, Utah and Stephanie (Brad) Hempton of Villa Park, IL. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, Whitney, Bryce, Megan and McKenzie Mounteer, Jack and Faith Frazier, Ashley (Bob) Aikens and Ryan (Ashley) Hempton; brothers-in-law, Peter (Diane) Zirnhelt, Robert (Liz) Zirnhelt, William (Vicky) Zirnhelt, Timothy (Janell) Zirnhelt and Robert Washburn; sisters-in-law, Judy (Victor) Rodriguez and Janet (Bob) Lieffers; several dear nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Catherine Frazier; son, Paul Frazier; grandson, Shane Mounteer; brother, David (Sylvia) Frazier; sister-in-law, Judith (Zirnhelt) Washburn; former wife and mother of John, Paul and Catherine Frazier, Margo Frazier.
