BEARDSLEY, Edna M. - Of Davison, age 96, died Friday, October 10, 2014 at her residence.
Funeral service will be held 12 noon Monday, October 13, 2014
at the Flint Wesleyan Church, 3825 Davison Road, Flint, 48506
Pastor Franklin Beck and Reverend Thom VerWys officiating.
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Childrens Research Hospital
Visitation 1-8pm Sunday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. Mrs. Beardsley will be at the church 11am Monday until the time of the service.
Edna was born in Monette, Arkansas on October 6, 1918, the daughter of Clarence and Altha Poe. On February 14, 1934, she married Thomas Beardsley in Arkansas. She loved to spend time with her church family at Flint Wesleyan Church where she was a member and attended. She liked to play cards, listen to music, play games, gardening, bird-watching and traveling. Most of all she loved her children and all of her grandchildren.
Surviving are children, Jennilee Stresen-Reuter, Ora Mae Hager, Doris (Donald) Early, Patsy (Jeffery) Davis, Linda (Jim) Overmyer, James (Karen) Beardsley, Nathan (Debbie) Beardsley, Diane (Jerry) Driggett, Pamela Beardsley, Vicki (Wally) Arsenault and Tommy (Lori) Beardsley;
She was blessed with 5 generations.
25 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas and son, Billy (Betty) Beardsley, and Son in law Charles.
The family would like to thank Gentiva Hospice and the staff at Comfort Keepers. Special thanks to Danielle, Evelyn, Marcy, Wanece, and Linda.
