Charles Henry Spickler, age 91 of Owosso, passed away on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at Mclaren-Flint.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 18, 2016 at 10am at St. Paul Catholic Church, Rev. Fr. Michael O'Brien will officiate, with burial to follow in St. Paul Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 from 2-4pm and 6-8pm, with the Rosary being prayed at 7pm, at Watkins Brothers funeral Homes, Jennings-Lyons Chapel
Charles was born in Flint, Michigan on May 22, 1924 to the late Charles Harold and Gladys Cecilia (McCrum) Spickler. He graduated from Flint Central High School and entered the United States Army during WWII where he served his country faithfully and was discharged as a Tech Sgt. In 1946 he married Laraine June Butzin at the Saginaw Presbyterian Church and together they would raise three children. Charles was retired from General Motors where he spent 46 years inspecting metal. Charles was also a faithful Detroit Tigers fan.
Charles is survived by his daughter Patricia (Danny) Scheaffer of Westland. His grandchildren; Tracy (Doug) Webb, Corey Spickler, Tyler (Sarah) Spickler and great-grandson Ryan James Todd.
Mr. Spickler was predeceased by his wife Laraine, sons; Terry and Tim, and daughter in-law Janey.
