GASPER, Donna Mae – of Burton, age 84, devoted wife and mother, passed away March 5, 2013 at Churchill Farms AFC-Lapeer where she was a resident for over 7 years. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, G-5199 Richfield Rd., Flint; Rev. George Puthenpeedika Celebrant. Cremation will follow the Mass. Visitation will be 1-3 and 5-8 p.m. Friday at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. A Scripture Service will be held 5 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. On Saturday, there will be visitation at the church for one hour prior to the Mass.
Donna was born in Flint on March 25, 1928, daughter of the late Herman and Thelma (McGaughy) Lee. After graduating from high school, she attended General Motors Institute. Donna Mae Lee married Bernard John Gasper. Mr. and Mrs. Gasper were current members of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and past members of St. Leo the Great Catholic Church. Donna was a secretary for United Plastics and Eaton Manufacturing Company, both of Vassar. She enjoyed sewing and genealogy.
Donna is survived by her husband of 64 years, Bernard; children, Elon (Liz), Leland (Ana), LeAnne (Allen) Jergensen, Elaine (Jay) McCarthy; grandchildren, Clary, Odessa (Matthew), Leo, Anna (Brian), Jacob and Sarah; brothers, Bruce (Millie) Lee and Larry (Joyce) Lee. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to her caregivers and extended family from Churchill Farms AFC, Paul, Liliane, Delores, Kathy and, her nurse Cora.
