CARAS, Joan M. “Khouri” - Of Burton, age 91, died Wednesday, September 8, 2015 at The Pines of Burton.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated 12 Noon Saturday, September 12, 2015
at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 706 Beach Street, Flint,
Father James Mangan officiating.
Per Joan’s wishes, cremation has taken place.
Visitation 11am Saturday at the church until the time of the Mass.
Contributions may be directed to St. Matthew Catholic Church.
Joan was born in Flint on September 14, 1923, the daughter of the late Anton and Josephine Khouri. Joan graduated from St. Matthew Catholic High School, Class of 1942. She was a lifelong member of St. Matthew Catholic Church. She was also a member of the Al-Watan Club. Joan enjoyed shopping, going to the casinos, listening to old 1940’s music, her dogs and spending time with her family. Joan worked for Citizens Bank for many years. She retired from Genesee County after 25 years of service.
Surviving are daughters, Barbara and husband Matt Tomczak of Kalamazoo and their children, Peter and Mark Tomczak;
Candice and husband Mike Rogers of Davison and their children, Sarah, Matt and Alyssa Rogers;
brother Edward Khouri of Flint;
sister, Kathy and husband Tony Delorenzo of Bloomfield Hills;
sister-in-law, Elaine Mugan of Grand Blanc;
several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by husband, George, and son Peter.
