Finley, Mrs. Oreatha of Flint age 67 a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away February 13, 2015 at her residence. Honoring her wishes cremation has taken place. The family will celebrate a memorial gathering from 12 noon - 4pm Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Dodds Dumanois Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 901 Garland St. Flint. Oreatha was born Dec. 20, 1947 in Selma, AL the daughter of Tom and Viola (Smith) Byrd. She graduated from Northern High School in 1966 and was joined in marriage to Willie D. Finley, in 1965, her husband of 49 years. Oreatha believed in education, graduating from Mott Community College, University of Michigan Flint and University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. She worked as a probation officer, counselor and a Clinical Social Worker. Oreatha leaves to cherish her memory husband Willie D. Finley, two sons David J. Finley and Torey D. Finley, 4 grandchildren Shaqueta R. Finley, Jessica R. Finley, Kevin D. Finley and Kenisha N. Finley, 2 great grandchildren Kaniya Rheaves and Bri'asia Davis, 3 sisters Mattie Mitchell, Corine Simmons Thelkeld and Gloria Robinson, 2 brothers Charles and Daniel Irby, brothers and sisters-in-law Joseph (Millie) Smith, Lola (Ronald) Watkins, Bertha Simmons, and Tommy (Pat) Finley, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. |
