BENTLEY, Robert W. "Bob" – of Clio, age 69, died Thursday, May 9, 2013 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services will be 1PM Saturday, May, 11 2013 at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Pastor Mike Durbin officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio on Friday from 3PM until 9PM and on Saturday from 11AM until the time of service. Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.
Robert was born August 14, 1943 in Flint to the late Arthur and Doris (Rockwell) Bentley. He lived in Clio most of his life. Robert graduated from Genesee High School in 1961 where he was an all star athlete who was awarded Athlete of The Year. He married Linda Jones on August 14, 1965. She preceded him in death December 17, 2011. Robert later married Melissa Conquest on September 8, 1990 in Clio. They enjoyed many happy years together. Robert was known as "Mr. B", the president of Mr. B's supermarket. He was also owner of Lakeshore Village and Marina as well as co-owner of Bentley Manor with his wife, Melissa. He was a past member of North End Baptist Church and Genesee Baptist Church in Mt. Morris. Robert was a member of The Secord Lake Eagles # 4121. He enjoyed golfing, being up north boating on the water, traveling, watching his youngest son Tyler race motocross, karaoke, grilling steaks, and loved spending quality time with his family and grandkids who were his greatest pride & joy. Robert will be greatly missed.
Surviving are: wife of 22 years, Melissa; children, Kathi (Robert) Bradberry of Caro, Cassandra Bentley of Clio, Christopher Bentley of Gladwin, Carissa (Christopher) Holsted of Flushing, Craig (Melissa) Bentley of Clio, Amanda (Phil) Mills of Clio, Kindra Roberts (Shawn Ruff) of Clio, Tyler Bentley (Loren Steinley) of Clio. 15 grandchildren, Travis, Kara, Zack, Shelby, Ashley, Kaylee, Brandon, Emma, Andrew, Jenna, Jacob, Hudson, Ellory, Izabella, Evan; sister, Nancy Wright; father and mother in law, Bill and Tina Conquest; brother in law, Bum (Angie) Conquest; many cousins, nieces and nephews. Robert was preceded in death by: brother, James Bentley in 2000.
