KOLLAR, John – Of Flint, age 96, died Friday, August 8, 2014 at his residence.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday, August 11, 2014 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, G-3139 Hogarth Avenue, Flint, Father Robert F. Copeland officiating.
Burial in Sunset Hills Cemetery.
Those desiring may make contributions to St. Pius X Catholic Church.
Visitation 2-5 p.m. Sunday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.
Mr. Kollar will be at the church from 10 a.m. Monday until the time of the Mass.
John was born in Barberton, Ohio on October 24, 1917.
He married Miriam Smith on October 18, 1941 in Flint.
He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army.
He was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church and the Ushers Club.
Mr. Kollar retired from GM and was a member of UAW Local #659.
Surviving are grandchildren, Samuel and wife Theresa LeFavour of Flint,
Adrienne and husband Scott Allen of Davison;
great-grandchildren, Trystan, Mason and Corbin;
nephew, Jerry and wife Ellen Draper of Saginaw;
niece, Nita and husband Mike Noellert of Reno, NV;
great-nephew, Jake.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Miriam; daughter, Kathryn LeFavour and son, David.
