Frederick M. Florida passed away peacefully on November 30, 2019 at the age of 78. Born in Flint, Michigan on December 20, 1940, he had many adventures throughout his life that included being a child migrant farm worker, and then as a young man working on rigs in the west and on a barge that traveled the Mississippi River. Drafted into the Army 1963, he served his country, and then moved back to Flint, Michigan, where he worked for Buick until his retirement. He leaves behind what he loved and treasured most, his children Drew Florida (Alyson Forman) and Jeana Willett (Tom Willett), and his grandchildren Maria, Joseph, and Jacob Willett. A memorial will be held on December 20 at Great Lakes National Cemetery at 1:00 pm. Memorial gifts to can be made to the Old Newsboys of Flint.
