Virginia was born in Flint, Michigan on September 4, 1944, the daughter of the late William and Wilma Johnston. On May 17, 1986, she married Clarence Smith. Virginia worked with her husband at Statewide Tax and Financial Service.
Surviving are husband, Clarence;
Son, Jeffrey Scott Bosma;
Step-son, Marc (Holly) Smith;
Grandson, Dominick;
Brothers-in-law, John, Charles and Raymond.
