VANSLYKE, Wayne Barton “Bart” – of Goodrich, age 79, passed away July 12, 2015 at his residence. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held 5PM Sunday, August 2, 2015 at St. John Activity Center, 505 N. Dayton St., Davison; Rev. David Flowers officiating. A celebration of life will take place 2-7PM the same day. Burial will be in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Bart was born in Flint, MI on September 23, 1935. He married Janet Forgie on January 25, 1964 in Flint, MI and she preceded him in death in 2004. Bart was an avid golfer and fisherman.
Bart is survived by his children, Kimberly (Cary) VanSlyke-Smith, Drusilla Morrison; grandchildren, Benjamin, Zakary, Jonathan, Matthew, Nathaniel, Joshua, Mikala; siblings, Chris (Glenda) VanSlyke, Rebecca Martin, Patty Palmondon, Mike (Ellen) VanSlyke, Vicki (Greg) Carpenter; step-mother, Angelina VanSlyke; sister-in-law, Dar Forgie; brother-in-law, Tom Forgie. He was preceded in death by his father, Wayne VanSlyke; mother, Dorothy (Burr) Dickerson; brother-in-law and best friend, Dale Forgie; sister-in-law, Sharon Forgie; step-father, Red Dickerson.
