Millie (Krcmarik) Bishop
Age 69 of New Lothrop, passed away on Friday, January 1, 2016 at home with her family.
Visitation will be held at Nelson House Funeral Homes New Lothrop Chapel on Sunday, January 3, 2016, from 2:00pm to 5:00pm and from 6:00pm to 8:00pm with a Scripture Service at 7:00pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Saint Michael’s Catholic Church of Maple Grove at 11:00am on Monday, January 4, 2016, with a viewing at 10:00am until the time of service. Following the funeral service, internment will be at Elmwood Cemetery in New Lothrop.
Millie was born on August 20, 1946. She was the daughter of Joseph Blaise and Dorothy Alice Krcmarik of New Lothrop, Michigan. She married Donald A. Bishop on October 2, 1965 at St. Michael’s Church, Maple Grove.
Millie was a homemaker, raising 3 wonderful children. She also clerked at Possum’s Party Store at Layton Corners for 17 years, before retiring.
Millie is survived by her husband, Donald and one son, Stephen (Jennifer) of Dallas TX; two daughters: Amy (John) O’Hara of Bloomfield Hills, MI, and Molly (Todd) White of Carlsbad, CA; six grandchildren: Blaise and Sophie Bishop; John III and Thomas O’Hara; Hayden and Bryson White; one sister Dottie Jo (Marty) Warnick of Frankenmuth, MI; two brothers: J. Mark (June) Krcmarik of Buffalo, NY; and Kevin (Kirsten) Marek of Cranston, RI; four brothers-in-law: David (Gloria) Bishop of Chesaning, MI; Richard (Maureen) Bishop of Milan, MI; Leo (Sue) Bishop of Hollis, NH, and Arnold (Debbie) Bishop of Rapid River, MI, and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Millie was pre-deceased by her parents and in-laws, Alfred and Eileen Bishop, niece, Allie Krcmarik, and several aunts and uncles.
The family extends special thanks to the University of Michigan Oncology doctors and staff, and Great Lakes Hospice Caring staff, who cared for Millie over the past few years.
