SMYTH, Maxine M. – of Clio, age 87, died Sunday, February 14, 2016, at McLaren of Flint. Mass of Christian Burial in memory of Maxine will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, February 17, 2016, at Saints Charles and Helena Catholic Church in Clio. Rev. Fr. Ken Coughlin officiating. Private burial to follow in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio on Tuesday from 3-8 PM and at the church on Wednesday from 10 AM until time of Mass at 11 AM. A parish Vigil service will be held at 7 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to Quality Living Facilities.
Maxine was born January 31, 1929, in Pinconning, MI to the late Louis and Reta (Alexander) Blondin and was a Flint area resident her entire life. She was a member of Saints Charles and Helena Catholic Church. She was a volunteer for Genesee County Parks. Maxine enjoyed being with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are: Sons: Roy (Karla) Smyth of Clio, Jack (Sandra) Smyth of Davison, Ken (Christine) Smyth of Swartz Creek, Bryan (Ruth) Smyth of Ft. Wayne, IN; 7 Grandchildren: Adam Smyth, Allison (David) Lisac, Erin Smyth, Kimberly Smyth (Fiancé Andy Knuuti), Ben (Kori) Smyth, Karin Smyth and Andrew (Amber) Smyth; 10 Great Grandchildren; Brother, Jack (Bernadette) Blondin of Clio; nieces and nephews.
