MILLS, Phillip Alan – of Clio, age 68, died Thursday, April 14, 2016, at his residence. Funeral services will be held at 4 PM Monday, April 18, 2016, at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Pastor David Spooner officiating. Burial will be in Great Lakes National Cemetery at 12:30 PM Tuesday, April 19, 2016. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8PM and on Monday from 2PM until time of services at 4 PM. Contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
Phillip was born December 16, 1947, in Flint to the late Jodie and Rosemary (Anderson) Mills. He was a lifelong resident of the Clio area. He served in the US Army from 1967 to 1969. He married Brenda Daniels on February 11, 1967. She preceded him in death on March 25, 2013. Mr. Mills retired from GM in 1996 with 30 years seniority and was a member of the UAW Local #659. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking and spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving are: Children: Nicci (Keith) Ferris of Clio, Phillip II (Amanda) Mills of Clio, Brook (Ray) Melvin of Fowlerville, Blake (Jade) Mills of Davison; 11 Grandchildren: Alicia, Kirsten, Tyler, Hudson, Ellory Jo, Lindzee, Shelbee, Camden, Braley, Kaybrie, Gentry; Brothers and Sister: Michael Mills of Millington, Tina (Chuck) Glumb of Haslett; Eric Mills of Flint; Sister in law, Sheila Hill of Clio; Several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. The family extends special thanks to his caregivers: Kirsten and Alicia Ferris, and those from Bentley Manor: Stephanie Ordiway, Amanda Crepeau and Tiffany Thomas.
