MESSIER, Gerald O. - of Mt. Morris, age 76, died Friday April 11, 2014 at McLaren of Flint. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, April 16, 2014 at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Burial at Flint Memorial Park. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 2-8PM and on Wednesday from 10AM until time of services at 11AM. Contributions may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
Gerald was born October 26, 1937 in Flint to the late Henry and Gracie (Edwards) Messier. He had resided in the Mt. Morris area since 1955. He served in the US Army from 1956 to 1958. Gerald married Geraldine Tate on August 21, 1971. She preceded him in death on September 1, 2008. Mr. Messier retired from GM Truck and Bus in 1988 with 30 years seniority and was a member of the UAW Local #659.
Surviving are: children, Sue Mills of Clio, Colleen Griffin (fiance Dave Ludwig) of Clio, Gary Coyle of Clio; 10 grandchildren, Tricia Cook, Chad Coyle, Korrie Vallin, Chris Mills, Melissa Smith, Michelle Rowland, Matt Griffin and Brooke Coyle; 17 great grandchildren; sister, Janet Yott of Corunna; several nieces and nephews.
