JOSEPH, Cherry A. – Of Flint, age 79, died Monday, October 29, 2012 at her residence.
Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 17, 2012 at Woodside Church, 1509 East Court Street, Flint, Reverend Kendall Brown officiating.
Cremation has taken place.
Mrs. Joseph was born in Fatehpur, India on January 5, 1933, the daughter of the late Samuel and Grace (Cornelius) Ellis.
On December 15, 1953 she married Wise Joseph in Dehra Dun India.
She was a member of Woodside Church and the Presidents Wives Club at Mott. She was a member of Global Women’s Association.
She was involved in the March of Dimes and supporter of the Hamady House. Mrs. Joseph taught Sunday school at Woodside Church and worked on the Women’s Committee. She was a supporter of the Heifer Project and Food Bank of Eastern Michigan.
Surviving are husband, Wise;
daughter, Angela and husband Surender Peters;
son, Andrew Joseph;
grandson, Samuel Hefty;
brother, Malwin and wife Beulah Ellis;
sister, Jasmine and husband Prem Martin;
many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by sister, Esther Lal; brothers, Arthur Ellis and Rano Ellis.
