STEFAN, Annabelle Marie – of Davison, age 90, passed away March 24, 2013 at Genesys Hospice Care Center, Goodrich. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday, March 28, 2013 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 404 N. Dayton St., Davison, Rev. Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski Celebrant. Cremation will follow the Liturgy. Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Wednesday at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison, MI. A Rosary will be prayed at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. On Thursday, there will be visitation at the church for one hour prior to the Liturgy. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. John the Evangelist Church.
Annabelle was born in Calumet, MI on June 27, 1922, daughter of the late Peter and Zina (Hatem) Essa. Annabelle Essa married John Stefan on September 14, 1946. John preceded her in death on February 14, 1992. Annabelle was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church of Davison. She was very active in numerous church functions. Annabelle enjoyed cooking, sewing, knitting, playing card games and traveling. She loved being around her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Annabelle was truly a GREAT grandma. Annabelle worked for Fr. Andrew as a housekeeper for many years.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Kathleen (Gene) Bailey of Davison and Cindy (Ed) Birchmeier of New Lothrop; son, Michael Stefan; grandchildren, John, Tony (Cathy) Bailey, Karen (Dave) Koch, Mark, Matthew (Jennifer) Gross; great-grandchildren, Rayna and Carson Koch and Baby Jack Gross; nieces and nephews, Marsha, Edward (Billie), Robert (Joy), Marguerite (Ken) and Albert; many cousins; Fr. Andrew, who was so dear to her heart; many good neighbors and friends including Julia Shaker, her special friend of 75 years and her beloved canine friend, Coco Chanel. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Albert, Walt, Genevieve, Adeline, Edward and Marion. Annabelle’s family would like to thank Dr. Rommel Aquino and staff, as well as the staff of Genesys Hospice, for their compassionate support.
