LeMIEUX, Denise Helen (Thomas) – of Burton, MI, age 81, passed away Thursday, November 14, 2024. A Funeral Liturgy will be held 1 PM Friday, November 22, 2024 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Fr. Denis Spitzley officiating. Interment immediately following the service in St. John Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 4-7 PM Thursday, November 21, 2024 and 12-1 PM Friday, November 22, 2024 at Allen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or Streethearts Animal Rescue, in Denise’s memory.
Denise was born in Flint, MI on February 19, 1943, daughter of the late Edwin and Sophie (Marshall) Thomas. She was a proud graduate of Mott Community College, where she earned her Associate's Degree in Fire Science. Denise went on to have a distinguished career at General Motors, where she worked for more than 28 years before retiring in 2002. On July 31, 1982, Denise married the love of her life, Robert “Bob” Lemieux, in Burton, Michigan. Together, they built a life full of love and adventure, including opening the popular Caboose Lounge in Flint, MI, which became a cherished gathering place for friends and community. Denise was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, where she found strength in her faith and connections with those she loved. She was also a proud life member of the Harley Owners Group (H.O.G.) Flint Chapter, sharing her love for motorcycles with her husband and fellow enthusiasts. Her warmth, generosity, and sense of humor will be missed by all who knew her. Denise’s memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, and she will be remembered for the kindness she shared and the joy she brought to everyone around her.
Denise is survived by her husband, Robert “Bob” LeMieux; 2 daughters, Shelly (Barry) Blondin and Yvonne Beagle; step-son, Matthew LeMieux; 5 siblings; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, other loving family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin and Sophie Thomas; son-in-law, Carl Beagle and 2 brothers.
