BALANOWSKI, Frank, Jr. – of Montrose, age 76, died Thursday, January 14, 2016, at his residence. Mass of Christian Burial in memory of Frank will be held at 11 AM Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 400 N. Saginaw St. in Montrose. Rev. Fr. Gordon Reigle officiating. Burial to follow in Montrose Twp. Cemetery. Friends may call at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose on Tuesday from 1-8 PM and at the church on Wednesday from 10 AM until time of Mass at 11 AM. A Knights of Columbus memorial service will be held at 7 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Contributions may be made to Good Shepherd Catholic Church.
Frank was born February 4, 1939 in Flint to the late Frank and Amelia (James) Balanowski and was a lifelong resident of Montrose. He was united in marriage to Elaine Papineau on March 7, 1959. Mr. Balanowski retired from GM Metal Fab in 1993 with 35 years seniority then worked for RPM Auto Sales for 20 years. He attended Good Shepherd Catholic Church. Frank was a member of Montrose Knights of Columbus Council #8669 and the UAW. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, going to the cabin, NASCAR, Tiger Baseball and especially his grandchildren.
Surviving are: Wife, Elaine; Children: Tom (Margaret) Balanowski of Clarkston, Julie (Richard) Duby of Birch Run, Scott (Michelle) Balanowski of Chesaning; 10 grandchildren: Matthew, Sara, Mark, Frank, Steve, Joshua, Jennifer, Jessica, Kyle and Kaleb; 7 great grandchildren; Siblings: Pat Wagner of Flint, Cheryl (Randy) Heslop of Flushing, Randy Balanowski of Free Soil; several nieces and nephews.
