SPOONER, Bishop David A. – Of Clio, age 86, died Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at his residence.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at Christian Apostolic Church, 6350 Fenton Road, Flint, Bishop Earl Chavis and Bishop Jack Batson officiating.
Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery with Military Honors.
Those desiring may make contributions to Christian Apostolic Church.
Visitation 4-8 p.m. Sunday, 2-8 p.m. Monday and 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church until the time of the service.
Bishop Spooner was born in St. Louis, Missouri on January 5, 1927.
On May 7, 1955 he married Bonnie Bland.
He was past Pastor of Christian Apostolic Church from 1980-2011.
Bishop Spooner was self-employed as a mason contractor for 50 years.
Surviving are wife, Bonnie;
children, Larry and wife Linda Spooner of Clio,
Tina and husband Bill Conquest of Clio,
Augustus Spooner of Mt. Morris,
Sarah and husband Joe Earegood of Flint;
sister, Lois Lobbs of Clio;
brother, Claude and wife Marie Spooner of Las Vegas;
sister-in-law, Dorothy Spooner of Flint;
8 grandchildren;
22 great-grandchildren and
4 great-great-grandchildren.
