Passed away on Saturday, April 26, 2014. Age 91 years. He was born on March 17, 1923 in Flint to the late Irving Hugh and Emma (Post) Beebe. He married Clara C. Slagor on June 1, 1946, she preceded him in death on September 1, 2010.
Dale was a member of St Michael Catholic Church of Maple Grove. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a past Grand Knight. He served his country during WWII and received the Silver Star and the Purple Heart. He had been a member of the American Legion and VFW. He retired from Buick in 1977. Dale was an avid bowler and golfer. He especially enjoyed traveling in his motor home. He also loved his tractor. Above all, Dale especially enjoyed the time spent with his loving family and attending his grandchildren’s sporting events.
He is survived by his three children, Doug (Nell) Beebe of Chesaning; Bev (Ken) Adelberg of Chesaning; Barb (LaVearn) Wenzlick of New Lothrop; nine grandchildren; Amy Kline, Chad (Laura) Beebe, Jodi Adelberg, Tina Adelberg, Kevin (Samantha) Adelberg, Jessica Coleman, Lindsey Wenzlick, Bruce J. (Marque) Wenzlick, Krystal Wenzlick and eight great grandchildren, Kelsey Adelberg, Tyler Corbin, Kasey Reed, Lauren Kline, Morgan Reed, Zachary Adelberg, Ava Nichole Wenzlick and Hunter Wenzlick. Besides his wife, Clara, he was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Bryan J., Carleton and Arleigh Beebe, sisters, Neva Long, Goldie Schabel, Letha Walker and Mildred Ecker.
Funeral liturgy will be held 11:00 am Friday, May 2, 2014 at St. Michael Church. Fr. Nicholas Coffaro will officiate with burial in St. Michael Cemetery. Friends may call at the Walker-Martin Funeral Home in Chesaning on Wednesday, April 30 from 4:00-8:00 pm and also on Thursday, May 1 from 11:00 am to 8:00 pm and also at the church on Friday after 10:00 am until the time of service. There will also be a scripture service at 7:00 pm and the Knights of Columbus Rosary at 8:00 pm Thursday evening.
