WHALEN, David – of Davison, age 54, passed away June 6, 2013. A Funeral Liturgy will be held 11:00 AM Monday, June 10, 2013 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison; Deacon Michael Dear officiating. Cremation will follow the service. Visitation will be 6-8 PM Saturday; 1-4 & 6-8 PM Sunday and 10-11 AM Monday. A Scripture Service will be held 7 PM Sunday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Special Olympics - Michigan – Young Athletes.
David was born in Detroit, MI on July 24, 1958, son of Leroy and Susan (Terry) Whalen. David was very involved with the Davison Youth Baseball for 13 seasons. He enjoyed hunting and spending time outdoors. David loved spending time with his family and time in Oscoda. He was co-owner of Whalen Brothers Painting Company.
David is survived by his children, Erica (Jordan) Delling, Michael (Katie) Whalen, Matthew Whalen and Jeff (Nicole Hoenstine) Whalen; grandchildren, Sophia, Aubree and Jackson; mother, Susan Whalen; girlfriend, Diane Parker and her children, Evan, Erica and Sarah; brothers, Dan (Becky) Whalen, Norm (Kim) Whalen and Ed Whalen; sister, Elaine (Scott) Beckelic; sister-in-law, Risa Whalen; mother of his children, Cindy. He was preceded in death by his father, Leroy Whalen and brother, James Whalen.
