PERRY (ROBERTS), Janice A. “Jan” – of Mt. Morris, age 72, died Monday, July 1, 2019 at Willowbrook Manor in Flint. Mass of Christian Resurrection will be celebrated in memory of Jan at 11AM Saturday, July 6, 2019 at SS. Charles and Helena Catholic Church, 230 E. Vienna Street, Clio. Rev. Fr. Kenneth Coughlin officiating. Cremation to follow. Family will receive visitors at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio on Friday from 2PM until 4PM, 6PM until 8PM, and at the church on Saturday from 10AM until the time of Mass at 11AM. A Rosary will be prayed at 7PM Friday evening at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to SS. Charles and Helena Catholic Church.
Jan was born July 11, 1946 in Pontiac, Michigan to the late Gerald and Mildred (Christensen) Roberts. She graduated in 1964 from Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic School in Waterford. Jan obtained a Master’s Degree in Theology from Orchard Lake St. Mary’s in 1983. She married Ed Perry on October 3, 1964 at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church. Jan taught religious studies for St. Daniels Catholic Church in Clarkston, St. Alan Church in Troy, and numerous other schools and universities. She was intrigued with ancient languages and learned how to speak a few fluently. Jan traveled to an array of penitentiaries throughout Michigan, providing ministry services to the incarcerated. She was a member of the Michigan Club in Alabama. Jan was also a member of SS. Charles and Helena for 15 years. She enjoyed artistry, especially oil paintings, ceramics and making jewelry. Jan also enjoyed working with the special needs, church retreats and passion plays. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her beloved husband and family.
Surviving are: Husband, Ed Perry; Children: Mark (Lisa) Perry, Brigid Keisling, Christopher (Gretchen) Perry, Beth (Mike) Lafata, and Matt (Christy) Perry; Grandchildren: Michael Perry, Anthony Perry, Hunter Perry, Colten Perry, Gage Perry, Breanna Keisling, Josh Keisling, Ruben (Casey) Posada, Michael Lafata, Lauren Perry, Rachel Perry, and Grace Perry; Great grandson, Jackson Posada; Brothers: Jerry (Pat) Roberts, Pete (Donna) Roberts, and David Roberts; Sisters: Barb (Chris) Hart, Theresa Lapar and many nieces, nephews and family members. Jan's children would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to their father, Ed for his unconditional love and care of their mother during her illness.
