PIERSON, Duane “Ace” “Radiator” – of Davison, MI, age 52, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loved ones on Saturday, September 9, 2017. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held 2 PM Sunday, September 17, 2017 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423. The family will receive visitors 11 AM-3 PM and 5-8 PM Friday, September 15, 2017 and 12-2 PM Sunday, September 17, 2017 at Allen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family, in Duane’s memory.
Duane was born in Flint, MI on May 26, 1965, son of Karla (DePottey) Pierson and the late Richard Pierson, Jr. He married Amy (Furze) Gray on February 14, 2017. Duane was employed as a Booker with Hank Graff Chevrolet for over 31 years. For 22 years, Duane played Position #8 with the Flint Rouges Rugby Club. He enjoyed camping and was an avid fan of football, MMA and UFC. Duane’s positive attitude and selflessness was infectious. Duane was loved by all who knew him and will be deeply missed.
Duane is survived by his wife, Amy; 2 step-children, Kailey and Jake Gray; brother, Brian (Stephany) Pierson; half-sister, Tracy (Matt Sanchez) Pierson; nephew, Sean Pierson; 2 nieces, Taylor Pierson and Ivy Sanchez; step-mother, Dorothy Pierson; brother-in-law, Todd (Dee Dietz) Furze; sister-in-law, Beth (Esther Cortez) Furze; 2 canine companions, Scooter and Bennie; many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Richard (Thelma) Pierson, Sr. and Merwyn (Ada) DePottey.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Duane’s Hank Graff family, Flint Rouges Rugby family and the nurses and staff of McLaren Hospice, especially Katie and Sara, for their compassionate and professional care.
