POLATE, Margaret Ruth – of Flint, age 82, passed away June 2, 2018 at Genesys Health Park. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Wednesday, June 6, 2018 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison, MI 48423. Burial will immediately follow in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 AM -3 PM & 5-8 PM on Tuesday. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service on Wednesday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association.
Margaret was born in Flint, MI on August 29, 1935, daughter of the late Thomas and Marion (Wilson) Dickie. She married Clark Polate on April 23, 1960 in Flint, MI. Margaret was a member of the Red Hat Society. She enjoyed cross-stitch, crocheting, knitting, bowling, going up north camping and trips to Las Vegas. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family.
Margaret is survived by her husband, Clark; daughters, Sally and Christine Polate; grandchildren, Alyssa Redden and Kiri Wright; great-grandchildren, Samara, Jaxson and Amari; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by siblings, Tom Dickie, George Dickie and Georgina Weston.
